Candy Bar Cookie Recipes

The first of the two Candy Bar Cookie recipes listed here actually uses candy bars. The second is a bar cookie with a caramel nut topping that makes it seem like a candy bar.

Candy Bar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 Snickers(r) candy bars (2.07 ounces each), chopped

Directions

In a large mixing bowl combine the yellow cake mix, brown sugar, eggs and butter. Beat on low speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in chopped candy.

Spread the mixture into an ungreased 13-in.x 9-in.x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 min. or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into squares.

You might consider this recipe as a basis for other cookies. Simply by changing the type of cake mix and using a different candy bar you have a whole new recipe.

Cashew Caramel Bars Candy Bar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped cashews
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 tablespoons light cream
1/3 cup chopped cashews
1/4 cup packed brown sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.

To prepare Pastry: In a large bowl, mix the eggs and both sugars together. Blend in the chopped cashews. Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt. Add to the egg mixture and blend well. Press this cookie dough into the bottom of the greased pan.

Bake the cookie dough for 20 to 25 minutes.

While the cookie dough bakes, mix 1/4 cup of brown sugar, cream and cashews into the melted butter.

Spread this mixture over the baked pastry and place under a broiler for about 1 minute, until the topping bubbles and becomes brown. Cut into bars while still warm. Let the cookies cool in the pan
