Candy Corn Popcorn Ball Recipe

What's Halloween without popcorn balls and candy corn?

This Candy Corn Popcorn Ball Recipe combines the two in tasty fashion.

It's also easy and very kiddies friendly since it uses the microwave.

Candy Corn Popcorn Ball Recipe

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 (10.5 ounce) bag Miniature Marshmallows
1 (3 ounce) package JELL-O Brand Gelatin, any flavor
12 cups (3 qt.) popped popcorn
1 cup candy corn

Microwave the butter and the marshmallows in a large microwavable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or until the marshmallows are puffed. Stir in the gelatin until well mixed.

Pour the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and the candy corn in a large bowl. Mix lightly until everything is well coated. Shape into 15 balls or other shapes with greased or wet hands.

Wrap each popcorn ball in plastic wrap and tie with raffia or ribbon, if desired.

About The Popcorn

You will need 12 cups or 3 quarts of popcorn for this recipe and it needs to be non-flavored popcorn since the gelatin adds flavor.

One ounce of unpopped popcorn kernels will yield 4 cups or one quart of popped popcorn. So you will need to repeat the following recipe 3 times in order to get the required amount.

Microwave Popcorn Recipe

1 plain brown paper sandwich bag (10 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches)
1/4 cup unpopped popcorn
1 tbsp canola oil
Salt to taste

Measure out the popcorn in 1/4 cup measuring cup. Pour the measured oil right over the corn in the cup. Dump into the bag and fold the top about 1/2 inch 2 or 3 times. Place in the microwave with the folded side up and microwave on high about 4 minutes.

Remove and sprinkle with salt if desired. For making these popcorn ball recipes you might not wish to add salt at all but I do.

This recipe yields about 1 quart.

Depending on the popcorn ball recipe you're using you might need to repeat the above recipe several times to get the desired quantity.

The Candy Corn Popcorn Ball Recipe requires three quarts so you would need to repeat it 3 times.
