Chocolate Cookie Bars
Delicious Chocolate Cookie Bars! Seriously think about making a double batch of these chewy, crunchy cookie bars. The bottom crust is a mixture of graham cracker crumbs and butter and after that comes the coconut and walnuts and chocolate candies. The trick to making this cookie recipe is getting the bars made and into the oven before all the good stuff starts disappearing! Rainbow Chocolate Cookie BarsIngredients2 cups graham cracker crumbs Preheat the oven to 350F. Lightly coat a 9 x 13 baking pan with cooking spray. Put the graham cracker crumbs in a small bowl and pour in the melted butter. Stir until it is well blended, then cover the bottom of the prepared baking dish with the mixture. Make sure the pan is evenly coated and pat it down. Blend together the sweetened condensed milk and the chocolate syrup. Pour this mixture very evenly over the graham cracker crust. Sprinkle first the chocolate candies, then the coconut and finish with the chopped walnuts. Lightly press everything on top of the crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Let the baked dough cool before cutting into bars. Store the cookie bars between sheets of waxed paper in an airtight container. Good To Know - If you have Smores leftovers, grind the graham crackers in a food processor until they are mealy. This will keep you from having to find graham cracker crumbs. You also may be able to find chocolate flavored sweetened condensed milk - if so, omit the chocolate syrup. Food For Thought - Regular size M&M's work just as well as the minis, and you can eliminate the coconut and/or walnuts if you like without affecting the recipe, but why would you want to!
