Chocolate. Need I say more? Well maybe chocolate frosting and especially this chocolate frosting recipe. There’s no better chocolate delivery device than this recipe. Another plus is that it’s easy.
Get a double dose of chocolate by frosting a chocolate cookie with it.
Chocolate Frosting Recipe
2 C Powdered Sugar
4 tablespoons Hershey Dutch Process Cocoa Powder
3 tablespoons Butter
3 tablespoons Cream Cheese
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 C Boiling Water
Mix the powdered sugar and the cocoa powder. Melt the butter and cream cheese together. Add the melted mixture to the powder and immediately mix with a hand mixer until the mixture is crumbly. Add the vanilla. Slowly add the water and mix on high speed until the mixture thins enough to pour and becomes smooth.
About Cocoa Powder
Cocoa powder is made when chocolate liquor is pressed to remove most of its cocoa butter. The remaining cocoa solids are then processed to make fine unsweetened cocoa powder.
Cocoa powder is naturally acidic. Dutch process cocoa is treated with an alkali to neutralize the acidity.
Regular cocoa powder would be fine in this recipe and would probably have a stronger chocolate flavor. I just prefer the Dutch process in this recipe.
