Colored Popcorn Balls
These Colored Popcorn Balls are very easy to make. Not only do you get colored balls but the popcorn also picks up the fruity flavor of the gelatin. Use Halloween colors for your party!
Colored Popcorn Balls Recipe
Ingredients
9 cups popped popcorn
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 (10 ounce) package large marshmallows
6 tablespoons fruit flavored gelatin mix, any flavor
Directions
Place popcorn in a large bowl; set aside. In a saucepan, melt butter and marshmallows over low heat. Stir in gelatin until dissolved. Pour over popcorn and toss to coat. When cool enough to handle, lightly butter hands and quickly shape mixture into balls.
These popcorn balls are very easy, and delicious. Here's an easy way to pop the popcorn for them.
Easy Microwave Popcorn
1 plain brown paper sandwich bag (10 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches)
1/4 cup unpopped popcorn
1 tbsp canola oil
Salt to taste
Measure out the popcorn in 1/4 cup measuring cup. Pour the measured oil right over the corn in the cup. Dump into the bag and fold the top about 1/2 inch 2 or 3 times. Place in the microwave with the folded side up and microwave on high about 4 minutes.
Remove and sprinkle with salt if desired. For making these popcorn ball recipes you might not wish to add salt at all but I do.
Depending on the popcorn ball recipe you're using you might need to repeat the above recipe several times to get the desired quantity.
