German Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies
German Chocolate Cookie Ingredients
1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
German Chocolate Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 inch pan. Melt the caramels with 1/3 cup of the condensed milk.
In a separate bowl combine the German chocolate cake mix with the melted butter or margarine and 1/2 cup of the condensed milk. Stir the mixture well.
Spread 1/2 of the cake mix cookie mixture in the pan and bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
Remove the German chocolate cookies from the oven and cover with the caramels, chocolate chips and the chopped walnuts. Put the remaining cake mix on top and bake for another 10 minutes. For a firmer bar that's not so gooey bake 15 minutes instead of 10 minutes.
