About Macadamia Nuts
Almost all of the macadamia nuts sold in the U.S. are grown in Hawaii but macadamias are not native to that state.
They grow well in Hawaii but they're actually from Australia. There, they are also known as Queensland nut or Australian nut.
They're hard to crack open and tricky to roast, so they're almost always sold shelled and roasted in vacuum-pack containers.
After you open these containers, you should store any unused nuts in the freezer or refrigerator, since they're high in fat and therefore prone to rancidity
Buy some macadamia nuts and some white chocolate and give this macadamia nut cookie recipe a try.
