Magic Bar RecipeTo me the real magic in this magic bar recipe is its ease of preparation and the wonderful taste. Be sure to use sweetened condensed milk and not evaporated milk. As for the nuts I prefer pecans. Magic Bar Recipe1/2 c. margarine or butter Preheat your oven to 350 degrees (325 degrees for glass dish). In 13 x 9-inch baking pan melt margarine in oven. Sprinkle crumbs over margarine; mix together and press into pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top evenly with remaining ingredients; press down firmly. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly before cutting. Store loosely covered at room temperature. This cookie bar recipe also lends itself to a lot of variations. For instance any cookie crumb could be used in place of the graham crackers and even though I prefer pecans any nut will do and will change the cookies taste. You could also use different morsels instead of the chocolate such as butterscotch, peanut better, etc... Different dried fruit flaked or finely diced should also work in place of the flaked coconut. Give this magic bar recipe a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
