Mrs Fields Eggnog Cookies

Eggnog is traditional at Christmas time so why not add Mrs Fields Eggnog Cookies for another Christmas treat. This recipe uses nutmeg and then has nutmeg sprinkled on the tops before baking.

Mrs Fields Eggnog Cookies Recipe

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground Nutmeg
1 1/4 cup white Sugar
3/4 cup salted Butter, softened
1/2 cup Eggnog
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 large Egg yolks
1 tablespoon ground Nutmeg for the cookie tops

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well with a wire whisk and set aside.

In a large bowl cream the sugar and butter with an electric mixer to form a grainy paste. Add the eggnog, vanilla and egg yolks and beat at medium speed until smooth. Add the flour mixture and beat at low speed just until combined. Do not over mix.

Drop the dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets, 1 inch apart. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Bake for 23-25 minutes or until bottoms turn light brown.

Transfer immediately to a cooling rack with a spatula and allow the cookies to cool.

This recipe makes about 36 Mrs Fields Eggnog Cookies.
