No Bake Cookies
No Bake cookies are exactly what the name says; they don't need to go in the oven. They're just crunchy stuff bound together with gooey stuff. "Enhance your cookie baking by NOT baking."
Because of that they are great time savers. At most all you have to do is melt some gooey stuff over the stove or in the microwave, stir in some crunchy stuff and then shape the cookie and allow it to cool. Just because no bake cookies are simplicity itself doesn't mean that they can't have infinite variations. Just let your imagination run wild! The crunchy stuff can be most anything that's crunchy and good. They can include oats, nuts, cookie crumbs and most any kind of cereal on your grocer's shelf. The gooey stuff can be just as varied. Marshmallows are popular but you don't have to stop there. Most anything that will bind the crunchy together can be used. Chocolate, peanut butter or even a combination of dried milk and corn syrup will do just fine. Consider adding chocolate chips, dried fruit pieces, or cinnamon candies for a little pizzazz. You can also be creative with colors and shapes for most any holiday season. Whether you don't want to heat up the kitchen or the demands of getting the kids out the door are upon you, it's nice to have a few no bake cookie recipes on hand. Be sure to give the perennial favorite Rice Krispies Treats a try.
