Peanut Butter Brownie
This peanut butter brownie is from Smucker's and uses their all natural peanut butter.
It just so happens that that is the peanut butter I use for all my peanut butter cookies.
Read more about why I use it below.
Chocolate chips go great with peanut butter and would make a nice addition to this recipe.
Smucker's All Natural Peanut Butter Brownie Recipe
1 16-ounce jar Smucker's Natural Creamy Peanut Butter, divided
1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted, divided
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Dash of salt
3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3-5 tablespoons milk
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Combine the brown sugar, 1-1/4 cups of the peanut butter and 1/2 cup of the butter in a medium
bowl. Mix until smooth.
Add the eggs and beat until well mixed.
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt and stir into the peanut butter mixture. Stir until
it is well mixed.
Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
Cool on a wire rack.
Combine the remaining peanut butter, remaining butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and three
tablespoons milk. Beat until smooth. Stir in the milk until the frosting is of a spreading
consistency. Spread over the brownies.
Tip: Stir in one-cup peanut butter morsels or semi-sweet chocolate morsels if desired.
Makes two dozen brownies.
The ingredients list of Smucker's All Natural Peanut butter has two items. Roasted peanuts
and salt!
Now that's as natural as it gets. In fact when you first open it you have to stir in the oil
because it separates while sitting on the grocery shelf.
Before you make a batch of cookies read the ingredients list on your peanut butter.
The better the peanut butter the better the peanut butter brownie.
