Shortbread Crust
Shortbread cookie dough makes a great Shortbread Crust. However you can add other
ingredients to the dough to make a better-flavored crust. This versatile dough can be used for
pies or cookie bars.
Shortbread Crust Recipe
1 cup flour
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 stick butter
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Melt the butter and add it to the flour and sugar in mixture. Press into a pie plate. Poke
holes in the dough with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool the crust. Now you
can fill with any pie filling. Quick and easy! Tastes great.
Cherry Custard With Shortbread
1 1/4 cup flour
2 Tbsp. Sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 pkg. vanilla pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 can cherry pie filling
1 cup heavy cream whipped (optional)
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Combine the flour and sugar. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles cornmeal.
Line a 10 x 6 x 1 1/2-inch pan with this mixture.
Bake in a hot oven 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool. Prepare pudding with the milk according to the directions on the package. Cool.
Pour the pudding into the baked crust. Pour the cherry pie filling over the pudding. Serve with whipped cream. Makes 6 servings.
Royal Romance Bar Cookies With Shortbread Crust
Bottom Crust:
1 cup flour
2 Tbsp. white sugar
1/2 cup butter
Filling:
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 Tbsp. Flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 cup finely chopped nuts
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
For The Crust: Combine the flour and sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles cornmeal.
Press the mixture down firmly in pan and bake in 400 degrees oven until just starting to brown, approximately 8 to 10 minutes.
Set the crust aside and do the filling.
For The Filling: Combine all the filling ingredients thoroughly. Pour this mixture on the
cooked shortbread crust and bake 25 minutes in 350 degrees oven. Cool. Slice into bars.
