Basic Spritz CookiesEven though this recipe is for Basic Spritz Cookies you can still have a lot of variety in your cookies with just minor changes to the recipe. Just changing the die makes a different cookie. These are buttery, light and crispy cookies and the dough will work very well in your cookie press. Basic Spritz Cookies RecipeIngredients1 cup butter Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Cream together the butter and the sugar. Add the 3 beaten egg yolks and one teaspoon of almond extract. Mix until well blended. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually sift into the butter mixture and stir well. Chill until firm (2 - 3 hours). This recipe has a lot of butter in it and over chilling could make it to firm to go through the cookie press. The consistency of the dough is essential to cookie press cookies. Using a Cookie Press Please take note that this recipe uses cake flour. If you use all-purpose flour you will get a different consistency and the dough might not work well with your press. You Might Need:
