Spritz Peanut Butter Cookies

Spritz peanut butter cookies will be a big hit at your Christmas party. If baked properly they will not be chewy just melt in your mouth delicious. The consistency is right for the cookie press.

Spritz Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
2 tablespoons water
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Beat the shortening with the sugars and the peanut butter until well mixed. Beat in the egg and the water.

Combine the flour, baking soda and salt.

Gradually beat the flour mixture into the peanut butter mixture.

Load you cookie press with dough and press out cookies on an ungreased half sheet pan.

Bake the cookies at 375 degrees F. for 12 minutes or more until done, usually when the puffed up cookie has lowered down to level. Before then it is chewier.

These are absolutely delicious peanut butter cookies. If you would prefer a chewier cookie just don't bake them for the entire 12 minutes. Take them out of the oven while they are still puffy.

Chocolate and peanut butter are a great combination. Use this recipe and the flower die of your cookie press. About two minutes before the cookies are done drop a Hershey's chocolate kiss in the middle of the flower. Delicious!
