White Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
1 cup butter flavored shortening
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 large egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp. Soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 pkg. White chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (Macadamias are great in this recipe!)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Combine the flour, the baking soda, the cream of tarter and the salt in small bowl.
Beat the butter flavored shortening, granulated white sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until they are creamy.
Add the egg and beat well to be sure it is completely incorporated.
Gradually beat in the flour mixture. Stir in the white chocolate chip morsels and the chopped nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes and then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Watch the cookies closely. Over baking is the primary reason for cookies that are not soft.
This White Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe should yield about 3 dozen cookies.
